SECTION 42-128-17

   § 42-128-17  Severability and liberalconstruction. – If any provision of this chapter or the application of any provision to anyperson or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity shall not affect otherprovisions or applications of the chapter, which can be given effect withoutthe invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of thischapter are declared to be severable. The provisions of this chapter shall beconstrued liberally in order to accomplish the purposes of the chapter, andwhere any specific power is given to the commission, the statement shall not bedeemed to exclude or impair any power otherwise in this chapter conferred uponthe commission.
