SECTION 42-13-3

   § 42-13-3  Relations with othergovernmental agencies. – The department of transportation is hereby authorized to cooperate with theappropriate agencies of the federal government, this state, or other states,and regional agencies in the planning, design, construction, operation, andmaintenance of transportation facilities and programs. The department isauthorized to apply for and accept funds from federal and regional agencies tocarry out any of its functions, and to contract with the federal government andregional agencies concerning the use and disposition of those funds.
