   § 42-14-14  License applications –Investigation. – After receipt of any application for a license, permit, and/or registrationthat is subject to the jurisdiction of the department of business regulation,the director of business regulation or his or her designee shall conduct aninvestigation to determine whether the facts set forth in the application aretrue and shall receive from the department of the attorney general all recordsof criminal information which it has or shall receive indicating any criminalactivity on the part of the individual signing the application. The departmentof the attorney general shall provide the information subject to the rules andregulations promulgated by the attorney general regarding the production ofthat information.
