SECTION 42-142-1

   § 42-142-1  Department of revenue. –(a) There is hereby established within the executive branch of state governmenta department of revenue.

   (b) The head of the department shall be the director ofrevenue, who shall be appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent ofthe senate, and shall serve at the pleasure of the governor.

   (c) The department shall contain the division of taxation(chapter 44-1), the division of motor vehicles (chapter 32-2), the division ofstate lottery (chapter 42-61), the office of revenue analysis (chapter 42-142),and the division of property valuation (chapter 42-142).
