SECTION 42-16.1-17

   § 42-16.1-17  Severability. – If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of this chapter or theapplication of any part to any person or circumstances shall, for any reason,be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, that judgmentdoes not affect, impair, or invalidate the remainder of this chapter and theapplication of this chapter to other persons or circumstances, but is confinedin its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of thischapter directly involved in the controversy in which the judgment has beenrendered and to the person or circumstances involved.
