§ 42-17.1-13 - Duties and limitations.

SECTION 42-17.1-13

   § 42-17.1-13  Duties and limitations.– Members of the auxiliary marine patrol shall be equipped with uniformsprescribed by the director and delegated specific powers and duties consistentwith those now granted to other members of the department of environmentalmanagement and divisions thereof. They may bear and use firearms only whenspecifically authorized to do so by the director and only when in uniform andassigned to active duty. The duties of the members of the auxiliary marinepatrol shall include, but in no way be limited to, the patrol of all harbors,rivers, docks, and other waterways of this state and the prevention ofvandalism and theft of all other property used or enjoyed in connectiontherewith. The patrol may also be called to serve and exercise power and dutiesconsistent with those employed by full time members of the department during anemergency or theoretical emergency. The members of the auxiliary marine patrolwill serve without pay.
