SECTION 42-27-1

   § 42-27-1  Commission created –Appointment of members. – (a) There is hereby created a special commission affiliated with the board ofgovernors for higher education to be known as the Rhode Island atomic energycommission, consisting of five (5) members to be appointed by the governor, oneof whom shall be designated by the governor as chairperson.

   (b) During the month of March in each year, the governorshall appoint a member to succeed the member whose term will then next expireto serve for a term of five (5) years and until his or her successor shall beappointed and qualified, except that a member appointed to fill a vacancy shallserve only for the unexpired term. Any member shall be eligible to succeed himor herself.
