SECTION 42-28.2-3

   § 42-28.2-3  Commission established –Appointment and terms. – (a) Starting in January, 1970 and annually thereafter the governor shallappoint members to the commission to serve a term of three (3) years commencingthe first day of February next following their respective appointment(s) anduntil their respective successors shall be appointed and qualified to succeedthe person or persons whose term next expires. At least one person serving onthe commission shall be appointed from a list of five (5) names submitted tothe governor by the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns and at least three(3) persons serving on the commission shall be chiefs of local policedepartments.

   (b) Members of the commission shall be eligible forreappointment.
