SECTION 42-29-12

   § 42-29-12  Action on sheriff's bond.– Any person injured by the breach of the bond of any sheriff may, afterrecovering judgment against the sheriff, his or her executors, oradministrators, in an action brought for the default, misfeasance, ornonfeasance of such sheriff or his or her deputy, cause a suit to be institutedupon the bond, at his or her own cost, in the name of the general treasurer, tohis or her own use.
