SECTION 42-29-29

   § 42-29-29  Continuation in office untilqualification of successor. – Every sheriff whose office shall become vacant by resignation or removal intoany other county may, notwithstanding, officiate as such until his or hersuccessor shall be duly qualified to act, and his or her deputies may alsoexercise their respective offices during that period.
