SECTION 42-29-5

   § 42-29-5  Record of appointment ofdeputies. – The appointment of every deputy shall be in writing under the hand and seal ofthe sheriff, and shall be lodged to be recorded in a book to be kept for thatpurpose in the office of the clerk of the superior court for the county forwhich he or she is appointed, before he or she shall enter on the duties of hisor her office.
