SECTION 42-29-6

   § 42-29-6  Special deputies to executeprocess. – Every sheriff may appoint a special deputy for the service of any writ orprocess to him or her directed, provided the appointment be written upon theback of the writ or process, and the deputy be sworn, before some personauthorized to administer oaths, duly and faithfully to execute the writ andprocess, and a certificate of the engagement be indorsed thereon.
