SECTION 42-30-16

   § 42-30-16  Notary public – Fraud ordeceit in office. – A notary public, who in the exercise of the powers, or in the performance ofthe duties of such office, shall practice any fraud or deceit, the punishmentfor which is not otherwise provided for by law, shall be guilty of amisdemeanor and fined nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), orimprisoned not more than one year, or both.
