   § 42-56.2-1  Federal surplus propertyofficer – Appointment – Duties. – Within the department of administration there shall be a federal surplusproperty officer who shall be appointed by the director of the department andwho shall be in the classified service of the state. The federal surplusproperty officer shall exercise the powers and duties as set forth in thischapter.
