SECTION 42-56-2

   § 42-56-2  Establishment of department– Director. – There is established within the executive branch of state government adepartment of corrections. The department shall be headed by a director ofcorrections, who shall be appointed by the governor with the advice and consentof the senate in accordance with the procedures set forth in § 42-6-3.
