SECTION 42-56-3

   § 42-56-3  Transfer of functions from thedepartment of human services. – There are transferred to the director of the department of corrections:

   (1) All of the functions of the division of correctionalservices formerly of the department of human services, including theadministration of interstate compacts and all other officers, employees,agencies, advisory councils, committees, or commissions of the division ofcorrectional services.

   (2) Those functions of the department of social andrehabilitative services which were administered through or with respect to thedivision of correctional services to include generally and specifically, thecorrectional institutions, the probation services, and other similar functions.

   (3) So much of other functions or parts of functions of thedirector of the department of human services as is incidental to or necessaryfor the performance of the functions transferred by this section.
