SECTION 42-56-40

   § 42-56-40  Transfer of foreign convictedoffenders under treaty. – Whenever a treaty is in force between the United States and a foreign countryproviding for the transfer or exchange of convicted offenders to the country ofwhich they are citizens or nationals, the governor may, on behalf of the stateand subject to the terms of the treaty, authorize the director of correctionsto consent to the transfer or exchange of offenders or take any other actionnecessary to implement the participation of the state in the treaty.
