SECTION 42-56-9

   § 42-56-9  Authority of department broadlyconstrued. – The omission in this chapter of a citation of any general law or public law nowin force which makes it mandatory upon or permissive for any department,division, or other agency of the state to perform certain functions which bythis act are assigned or transferred to the department of corrections shall not(unless otherwise clearly intended) suspend or annul the right of thedepartment of corrections to carry out those functions.
