SECTION 42-62-11

   § 42-62-11  Duty of health care providersto serve without discrimination – Certification. – (a) Persons and other entities providing health services in the state have aduty to provide those services to any person in need of health services withoutregard to the person's race, sex, religion, age, or occupational status.

   (b) On the basis of the duties required by this chapter andon the basis of existing legal requirements, the director of the department ofhuman services shall provide by regulations promulgated under this chapter forthe certification of providers and vendors of health services. The persons orentities found to be not meeting the duty prescribed by subsection (a) mayafter a hearing, be denied by the director of human services certificationrequired for eligibility for reimbursements by insurers, for periods of notmore than one year for each determination.
