§ 42-72-16 - Transfer of powers from department of human services.

SECTION 42-72-16

   § 42-72-16  Transfer of powers fromdepartment of human services. – There are hereby transferred to the director of children, youth, and families:

   (1) Those functions of the department of human services whichwere administered through or with respect to the division of community servicesto include generally and specifically the administration of child welfareservices in chapters: 11 of title 40, abused and neglected children; 15 oftitle 40, interstate compact on the treatment of children; 9 of title 11,children; 1 of title 14, proceedings in family court; 3 of title 14,orphanages; 4 of title 14, O'Rourke Children's Center; and 7 of title 15,adoptions;

   (2) All functions of the division of community servicesrelating to children and their families as set forth in subdivision (1) and allofficers, employees, agencies, advisory councils, committees, commissions, andtask forces of the division of community services; and

   (3) So much of other functions or parts of functions andemployees and resources, physical and funded, related thereto of the directorof the department of human services as are incidental to and necessary for theperformance of the functions transferred by subdivisions (1) and (2).
