SECTION 42-8-5

   § 42-8-5  Bonds executed before commissionsissued. – The secretary of state shall not issue a commission to the director ofadministration, the clerk of any court, the sheriff of any county, or to anyother officer holding or controlling the public moneys, until the bond requiredby law of such officer has been executed, approved and lodged with the officerrequired to receive the commission, the certificate of the officer, other thanthe secretary of state him or herself, being evidence of the fact.
