§ 45-21-10 - Information furnished as to members – Classification. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 45-21-10

   § 45-21-10  Information furnished as tomembers – Classification. – It is the duty of each participating municipality to submit to the retirementboard a statement showing the name, title, compensation, duties, date of birth,and length of service of each member, and any other information that theretirement board requires. The retirement board shall then classify each memberin one of the following groups:

   (1) Group  1. Laborers, mechanics, andworkers engaged in duties requiring principally physical exertion; andclerical, administrative, professional, and technical workers engaged in dutiesrequiring principally mental exertion;

   (2) Group  2. Members of the firedepartment of the participating municipality and members of the policedepartment of the participating municipality;

   (3) Or in any other group which may be recommended by theactuary on the basis of the service and mortality experience and approved bythe retirement board.
