SECTION 45-28-3

   § 45-28-3  Taking of real property forauthority. – Any city or town may take real property located in it for a housing authorityexercising its powers in the city or town, and the taking (and the conveyanceof the property to the housing authority) shall be in the manner provided in§§ 45-29-13 – 45-29-32; provided, that in the case of a takingby a town, the functions prescribed in these sections for officers of a cityshall be performed by the town council.
