§ 45-29-22 - Proceedings and report by appraisers.

SECTION 45-29-22

   § 45-29-22  Proceedings and report byappraisers. – The appraisers appointed pursuant to § 45-29-21, after being sworn to thefaithful performance of their duties, shall immediately view the premises, andwithin fourteen (14) days of appointment, and after notice as the superiorcourt may prescribe, proceed to hear the parties in interest as to theirrespective damages for the taking, and if the taking is less than the whole,then the damages to the remainder by reason of the taking. Within thirty (30)days after the commencement of hearings, or any longer period that the courtmay permit, the appraisers, or a majority of them, shall file in the office ofthe clerk of the superior court for the county where the land lies, a writtenreport of their doings and their estimate of the damages so sustained, statingthe names of the owners, and a brief description of their respective rights andinterests taken, and damages consequent thereon.
