SECTION 45-5-19

   § 45-5-19  Appointment of municipal officerunder home rule charter. – Notwithstanding any provision of the general or public laws providing for theappointment of a municipal officer by the mayor of a city or the president of atown council, if the home rule charter of any city or town adopted pursuant toarticle XIII of the Constitution of Rhode Island provides that an appointmentof this officer shall be by the city or town council, then the officer'sappointment shall be made by the council.
