§ 46-12.11-2 - Definitions. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 46-12.11-2

   § 46-12.11-2  Definitions. – As used in this chapter, unless the context shall clearly indicate otherwise:

   (1) "Director" shall mean the director of the department ofenvironmental management.

   (2) "Disposal facility" shall mean any wastewater treatmentfacility, or portion thereof, or any other facility that receives septage fromseptage transporters, pursuant to authorization by the department ofenvironmental management.

   (3) "Disposal facility operator" shall mean the personresponsible for operating the disposal facility, who has authority to chargefees for the receipt of septage.

   (4) "Person" shall mean an individual, trust, firm, jointstock company, corporation (including a government corporation), partnership,association, the Federal government, or any agency or subdivision thereof, astate, municipality, commission, political subdivision of a state, or anyinterstate body.

   (5) "Septage" shall mean any solid, liquid or semi-solidremoved from a septic tank, cesspool, privy, domestic or other wastewaterholding tank, or similar onsite sewage disposal system.

   (6) "Septage transporter" shall mean any person lawfullyauthorized to transport septage.
