SECTION 47-14-3

   § 47-14-3  Penalty for violations –Sale for consumption or by weight. – Every person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be finedtwenty dollars ($20.00) and forfeit one hundred dollars ($100), one-half (1/2)thereof to the use of the town and one-half (1/2) thereof to the use of theperson who shall sue for the same. But nothing herein contained shall be soconstrued as to apply to the sale of hay and straw sold by the producer thereoffor consumption and not to be resold, nor to prevent the purchase ofcommodities by a standard weight expressly agreed on by the parties.
