§ 5-30-6 - Qualifications and examinations of applicants.

SECTION 5-30-6

   § 5-30-6  Qualifications and examinationsof applicants. – Every person desiring to begin the practice of chiropractic medicine, except asprovided in this chapter, shall present satisfactory evidence to the divisionof professional regulation of the department of health, verified by oath, thathe or she is more than twenty-three (23) years of age, of good moral character,and that before he or she commenced the study of chiropractic medicine hadsatisfactorily completed credit courses equal to four (4) years ofpre-professional study acceptable by an accredited academic college andobtained a bachelor of science or bachelor of arts degree and subsequentlygraduated from a school or college of chiropractic medicine approved by thedivision of professional regulation of the department of health, and hascompleted a residential course of at least four (4) years, each year consistingof at least nine (9) months study. Any qualified applicant shall take anexamination before the state board of chiropractic examiners to determine hisor her qualifications to practice chiropractic medicine. Every applicant for anexamination shall pay a fee of sixty-two dollars and fifty cents ($62.50) forthe examination to the division of professional regulation. Every candidate whopasses the examination shall be recommended by the division of professionalregulation of the department of health to the director of the department ofhealth to receive a certificate of qualification to practice chiropracticmedicine.
