   § 5-34-15  Licensing of practical nurses.– (a) By examination. The applicant for a license to practice as alicensed practical nurse in this state is required to pass a written orcomputerized adaptive testing examination determined by the board of nurseregistration and nursing education. Upon successful completion of thatexamination, the applicant shall receive a license to practice nursing as alicensed practical nurse.

   (b) Without examination by endorsement. A license topractice as a licensed practical nurse shall be issued without examination toany applicant who is licensed by examination as a practical nurse or a personentitled to perform similar services under a different title under laws ofanother state or territory if, in the opinion of the board of nurseregistration and nursing education, the applicant meets the requirements forlicensed practical nurses in this state.
