SECTION 5-38.2-1

   § 5-38.2-1  Local licensing – Fees– Penalties. – The council of the city of Providence is authorized to provide, by ordinance,for the issuing and revocation in its discretion of licenses to all motorvehicle repair businesses within the city of Providence, subject to the listedconditions and restrictions contained in this chapter and for terms notexceeding one year; and also for charging and collecting fees for thoselicenses, provided that the prescribed fees do not exceed the sum of onehundred dollars ($100) for any qualified licensee; and also to fix a penaltyfor doing motor vehicle repairs without a license or in violation of anyordinance or regulation made as authorized by this section, not exceeding forany one offense a fine of five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisonment notexceeding six (6) months.
