   § 5-38.3-1  Statement of purpose. –The purposes of this chapter are to further highway safety by promoting theproper and efficient repair of malfunctioning or disabled motor vehicles and toprotect consumers from dishonest, deceptive, and fraudulent practices in therepair of motor vehicles. The purpose of this chapter is to protect themotoring public from improper repairs made to its vehicles, to set standardsfor quality repairs to be made to motor vehicles for fair and reasonable fees,and to eliminate unqualified automotive repair shops from engaging in thebusiness of automotive repair to malfunctioning or disabled vehicles.
