SECTION 5-38.4-1

   § 5-38.4-1  Local licensing – Fees– Penalties. – The city council of the city of Cranston is authorized to provide, byordinance, for the issuing and revocation in its discretion of licenses to allmotor vehicle repair businesses within the city of Cranston, subject to thelisted conditions and restrictions provided in this chapter and for terms notexceeding one year and also for charging and collecting fees for thoselicenses; provided, that the prescribed fees do not exceed the sum of onehundred dollars ($100) for any qualified licensee; and, also, to fix a penaltyfor doing motor vehicle repairs without a license or in violation of anyordinance or regulation made as authorized by this section, not exceeding forany one offense a fine of five hundred dollars ($500), or imprisonment notexceeding six (6) months.
