§ 5-53.1-5 - Books and records.

SECTION 5-53.1-5

   § 5-53.1-5  Books and records. – Every charitable organization registered or required to register pursuant to§ 5-43.1-2 shall keep and maintain books, records and reports for at leastthree (3) years after the end of the period of registration to which theyrelate which shall, upon reasonable advance written notice, be available forinspection at the principal office of the organization, by the director;provided, that the organization shall not be required to make available thenames and addresses of members and donors, except with their consent or throughlegal process where good cause has been shown by the director to question theorganization's compliance with this chapter and access to the information isnecessary to determine compliance. Nothing contained in this section shall beconstrued to limit an organization's ability to challenge the process onconstitutional grounds.
