SECTION 6-9-2

   § 6-9-2  Liability for sale of adulteratedoil for spermaceti. – All oils sold under the names mentioned in § 6-9-1 which are adulteratedwith whale, lard, or any other oil of less value than pure spermaceti oil,shall be deemed whale oil; and the vendor shall be liable to the purchaser fordouble the amount of the difference in value between pure spermaceti oil andwhale oil, whenever the quantity sold exceeds five (5) gallons, and four (4)times the difference whenever the quantity is less than five (5) gallons,unless the proportions of the respective oils are disclosed to the purchaser atthe time of sale.
