§ 6A-9-518 - Claim concerning inaccurate or wrongfully filed record.

SECTION 6A-9-518

   § 6A-9-518  Claim concerning inaccurate orwrongfully filed record. – (a) Correction statement. A person may file in the filing office acorrection statement with respect to a record indexed there under the person'sname if the person believes that the record is inaccurate or was wrongfullyfiled.

   (b) Sufficiency of correction statement. A correctionstatement must:

   (1) Identify the record to which it relates by:

   (i) The file number assigned to the initial financingstatement to which the record relates; and

   (ii) If the correction statement relates to a record filed ina filing office described in § 6A-9-501(a)(1), the information specifiedin § 6A-9-502(b) and (A) the date and time that the initial financingstatement was filed or (B) the book and page references of the filing;

   (2) Indicate that it is a correction statement; and

   (3) Provide the basis for the person's belief that the recordis inaccurate and indicate the manner in which the person believes the recordshould be amended to cure any inaccuracy or provide the basis for the person'sbelief that the record was wrongfully filed.

   (c) Record not affected by correction statement. Thefiling of a correction statement does not affect the effectiveness of aninitial financing statement or other filed record.
