SECTION 7-1.2-1408

   § 7-1.2-1408  Registered office andregistered agent of foreign corporation. – (a) Each foreign corporation authorized to transact business in this state musthave and continuously maintain in this state a registered agent, who is either:

   (1) An individual resident in this state; or

   (2) A corporation, limited partnership, limited liabilitypartnership, limited liability company, and in each case either domestic or oneauthorized to transact business in this state.

   (b) Foreign corporations who are the holders of mortgages onreal estate located within this state which do not maintain the loandocumentation and records within the state shall authorize the registered agentto accept mortgage discharge payment and to issue a discharge of the mortgagesupon the payment.
