§ 7-12-13 - Definitions. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 7-12-13

   § 7-12-13  Definitions. – In §§ 7-12-12 – 7-12-59:

   (1) "Bankrupt" includes bankrupt under title 11 of the UnitedStates Code (Bankruptcy) or insolvent under any state insolvent act.

   (2) "Business" includes every trade, occupation, orprofession.

   (3) "Conveyance" includes every assignment, lease, mortgage,or encumbrance.

   (4) "Court" includes every court and judge havingjurisdiction in the case.

   (5) "Person" includes individuals, partnerships,corporations, and other associations.

   (6) "Real property" includes land and any interest or estatein land.

   (7) "Registered limited liability partnership" means apartnership formed pursuant to an agreement governed by the laws of this state,registered under § 7-12-56 and in compliance with § 7-12-58.

   (8) "Foreign registered limited liability partnership" meansa registered limited liability partnership or a limited liability partnershipformed pursuant to an agreement governed by the laws of another jurisdictionand registered under the laws of that jurisdiction.
