SECTION 8-4-2

   § 8-4-2  Appointment and term of supremecourt clerk. – In the month of April and every five (5) years thereafter, the chief justice ofthe supreme court with the advice and consent of the senate, shall appoint aclerk of the supreme court. The person so appointed shall hold office until thefirst day of May in the fifth year next after his or her appointment and untilhis or her successor is appointed and qualified.
