SECTION 8-4-3

   § 8-4-3  Vacancy in office of clerk. –In case of a vacancy in the office of the clerk of the supreme court from anycause, the chief justice shall appoint some person to fill such vacancy for thebalance of the unexpired term and until his or her successor is appointed andqualified.
