SECTION 9-1-44

   § 9-1-44  Civil action for release of namesof minors. – (a) No member of any municipal or state agency shall release the identity ofany minor who is believed to be a victim of a violation of any law except withthe consent of his or her parent or guardian. This section shall not preventthe release of the identity of minors involved in a violation of a motorvehicle law or involved in a motor vehicle accident.

   (b) Any person found to be in violation of the provisions ofthis section shall be liable to the minor in a civil action brought on behalfof the minor for compensatory damages and court costs.
