SECTION 9-1-47

   § 9-1-47  Loss of homemaker services.– In any suit for damages as a result of personal injuries, a homemaker mayrecover the fair value of homemaker services provided to the home and thoseliving therein. A "homemaker" as used herein is a person who has primaryresponsibility for the care of a home and a family and who receives no directmonetary compensation for those duties. The fair value of homemaker servicesshall not be limited to money actually expended to replace the services usuallyprovided by the homemaker. In such a suit, the value of the homemaker servicesmay be shown by expert testimony, but such testimony is not required.
