SECTION 9-12-11

   § 9-12-11  Transmission of papers tosuperior court – Assignment for trial. – If an appeal is claimed, the case and the papers shall, on the next court dayof the district court, be certified and forthwith transmitted to the superiorcourt for the county wherein the division is situated, and the case shall be inorder for assignment for trial in accordance with applicable procedural rulesafter ten (10) days from the certification, but if the case is for tenementlet, or held at will or by sufferance, and including leases of land, it shallat once be certified to the superior court, and shall be in order forassignment forthwith, and shall take precedence of other matters on thecalendar.
