SECTION 9-17-6

   § 9-17-6  Tender of fees to certainwitnesses not required. – A witness summoned in behalf of the state or, in a criminal proceeding, inbehalf of a defendant who the court finds is financially unable to pay witnessfees shall have no right to have his or her fees paid or tendered to him or herbefore he or she shall be bound to obey the summons.
