§ 9-2-17 Joinder of registered owner andoperator of motor vehicle as defendants in action for negligence. – A plaintiff may join the registered owner and operator of a motor vehicle in anaction to recover damages for negligence. Nothing herein shall be deemed todeprive the owner or operator of any defense he or she may have.
