1-43-22. Hospital information on prices and health outcomes for comprehensive health data system. Each hospital licensed pursuant to § 34-12-1.1 shall submit, in a manner prescribed by the Department of Health, information pertaining to prices and health outcomes for health care services delivered in the state. Information derived may be used to generate marketplace competition among providers for selected medical procedures, promote favorable consumer habits, facilitate case management, and evaluate the effectiveness of cost containment measures. The Department of Health shall consult with the South Dakota Hospital Association as to the establishment, maintenance, and use of the information collected.
