3-6A-48. Ineligibility for appointment after conviction--Forfeiture of position. Any person who is convicted of a misdemeanor under this chapter is, for a period not to exceed five years, ineligible for appointment to or employment in a position in the career service. If the person is an officer or employee of the career service, the person shall forfeit the office or position.
