32-12-49.1. Point system for offenses--Number of points charged. The following is a listing of moving traffic offenses and the number of points assessed for a conviction for each offense:

(1) Driving while intoxicated ten points
(2) Reckless drivingeight points
(3) Eluding/attempting to elude a police officersix points
(4) Drag racingsix points
(5) Failure to yield right-of-wayfour points
(6) Improper passingfour points
(7) Driving on wrong side of roadwayfour points
(8) Stop sign/light violationthree points
(9) Other moving offensestwo points

For the purpose of this section, "other moving offenses" does not include speeding offenses.
