Section 33-17A-1 - Definitions of terms. - South Dakota Statutes

33-17A-1. Definitions of terms. Terms used in this chapter mean:
(1) "Benefits," all moneys paid or payable by the United States through the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs;
(2) "Conservator," any fiduciary for the estate of a ward;
(3) "Estate," income on hand and assets acquired partially or wholly with "income";
(4) "Guardian," any fiduciary for the person of a ward;
(5) "Income," moneys received from the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs and revenue or profit from any property wholly or partially acquired therewith;
(6) "Person," any individual, partnership, limited liability company, corporation, or association;
(7) "Secretary of veterans' affairs," the secretary of veterans' affairs of the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs or his successor;
(8) "United States Department of Veterans' Affairs," the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs, its predecessors or successors;
(9) "Ward," a beneficiary of the United States Department of Veterans' Affairs.
