34A-3A-19. State administration of the public water system supervision program--Imposition of fee. In order to safeguard the public health, safety and welfare of this state through a customer service approach, the state shall retain administration of the public water system supervision program as provided in the federal Safe Drinking Water Act as amended to January 1, 1992. In order to meet the increasing delegation requirements the result of the 1986 amendments to the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act, a fee shall be imposed upon the users of drinking water facilities as provided in § 34A-3A-20 to defray the costs to the state of administering the program.
