45-2-4.2. Continuation of geological survey--Purposes. The state geologist is hereby directed to continue the making of the actual geological survey of the lands, and earth, and the area beneath the surface of the lands of this state as provided by this chapter.
The survey shall be for the purpose of discovery, or aiding in the discovery, development, and industrial exploitation of such natural products, consisting of minerals, oil, gas, or other substances or commodities, among the natural and physical resources of the state, and of all by-products in connection with each and every one of the natural products of the state.
